Democarcy

Why does the west try so hard to sell their democracy to e rest of the world? Many a time to the extent of using their military to force "democracy" on em? Whats in it for em? I do not believe its all purely abt democracy. There muz b a hidden catch. A hundred yrs ago they colonize, now they "democratize" whats nxt?
